As the 2011-2012 academic year commences at Bates, the Brooks Quimby Debate Council begins its annual search for a new novice class. Students from all class years and academic backgrounds are welcome! No experience is necessary (the majority of BQDC members had no prior debating experience).

Varsity members will be tabling at the Student Activities Fair on Wednesday, September 7th from 9pm-11pm in the Gray Cage. Prospective debaters will have a chance to ask questions about college debate and sign up to be on the email list.

On Thursday, September 8th there will be a DEMO DEBATE from 5:30-6:30pm in the Filene Room (Room 300) in Pettigrew Hall. Come see some of BQDC's finest in action! Interested debaters are strongly encouraged to attend.
